Education
As your State Senator, I will
-
Seek to increase funding to our public schools and their programs to provide a tangible benefit for students, increasing the quality of their education and the opportunities they have after high school.
-
Help restore trust in our teachers by removing distractions that hinder their ability to connect with their students.
-
Vote against bills that seek to limit our student’s First Amendment rights and do nothing to improve the quality of education offered in our schools.
-
Introduce legislature to establish an Alabama Promise scholarship ensuring all students have access to vocational schools or higher education should they choose to pursue it.
Immigration
As your State Senator, I will
-
Fight to keep state resources dedicated to protecting our communities, with Alabama having one of the lowest budgets per capita, we should have bigger priorities than solving failures of the Federal Government
-
Seek to protect our Police Officers by allowing them to focus on the communities they are sworn to protect and serve. Expecting them to act as Federal Agents puts them in unnecessary danger, erodes community trust, and wastes state resources.
Immigration issues are the responsibility of our Federal Government, not our taxpayers, and certainly not our Police Officers
Healthcare
As your State Senator, I will
-
Introduce legislation to cap the costs of lifesaving drugs such as inhalers, epipens, and insulin.
-
Expand Medicaid in the state, taking advantage of Federal funds to help fund healthcare in rural communities.
-
Invest in rural healthcare through the building of new hospitals and medical centers, providing jobs and much needed medical intervention to our most vulnerable populations.
Economics/Affordability
As your State Senator, I will
-
Fight to raise wages across the state by seeking to tie tax breaks with employee welfare, incentivizing higher wages and better benefits.
-
Pay special attention to the needs of Small Business, offering tax breaks exclusive to businesses with less than 100 employees, helping the formation of new businesses and the continuation of existing businesses which provide jobs and character to the communities they are in.
-
Hold Big Business accountable by enacting heavy tax penalties on any company paying their employees so little that they qualify for SNAP, Medicaid, etc. These programs exist to protect Alabamians in need, not to subsidize their workforce.
-
Change the way we think about the role work plays in our lives by introducing legislation to ensure anyone working more than 8 hours a day receives overtime pay, instead of only basing it on 40 hours a week. Every hour of your day belongs to you, it’s time employers understand that.
-
Establish a per child tax credit
-
Establish a First-Time Homebuyer tax credit
-
Establish a $12/$15 tiered minimum wage that paces with inflation to ensure no one who’s willing to work is left behind as inflation creeps up year after year
-
Small businesses will be able to pay their employees slightly less but they will receive a tax credit for each employee they can pay at least the full minimum wage. This will ease the burden on local businesses, allowing them to remain competitive with big business.
-
By utilizing tax breaks to ensure proper wages and benefits for our workers and introducing tax credits that benefit everyday people, we can end the affordability crisis in Alabama. Together we can change how we think about work and what our employers owe us. With the policies laid out here we can make sure Alabama’s workers are taken care of while also guaranteeing that anyone who’s willing to work isn’t left behind.
TRUSTWORTHY. TRANSPARENT.DEVOTED.

You Talk, I Listen- I will pursue limits of two terms for every elected and appointed position in the state government. When the same people hold these positions for too long, ideas stagnate and working class people suffer.
Environment
As your State Senator, I will
-
Do everything in my power to ensure our waterways remain free of harmful pollutants such as the forever chemicals PFAS.
-
Protect our endemic species and maintain Alabama’s reputation as the most biodiverse state
-
Work with ADEM and the Attorney General to hold our worst polluters accountable and force their investment in state of the art air monitoring and water treatment plants across Alabama
Election Integrity/
Accountability
As your State Senator, I will
-
Utilize our State’s Right to define a corporation and enumerate their powers within our borders. We are able to work around Supreme Court rulings such as Citizens United by redefining Corporations and ensure that they do not have the right to contribute to state elections.
-
Previously the Supreme Court has ruled that States cannot limit the campaign contributions of corporations because, as their powers are currently written, limiting the contributions of a corporation is akin to limiting the contributions of a citizen which is unconstitutional. But these rulings always refuse to define a corporation or their powers because that is a constitutionally protected State’s Right. By writing this power out of Alabama’s legislation, we can effectively side step these rulings and put working class Alabamians back as the focus for our State Legislators.
-
Prison and Policing Reform
As your senator, i will
-
Building on the work of the Shelby County Mental Health Liaison, we will expand the program to include two additional social workers and push for statewide adoption.
-
This program serves as a resource to our police officers, allowing them to access real support for people experiencing mental health crises. Once the scene is secured, this team of individuals is able to come in and connect affected individuals with lasting treatment instead of ending up in our already overcrowded jails.
-
By investing in this program we are able to ensure a decrease in the frequency with which our police officers deal with these crises and our Police Department’s resources can remain dedicated to dealing with violent crime.
-
Pursue the decriminalization of marijuana in order to ease the strain on our overburdened prison systems.
-
This will also free up officers to deal with the violent crime that should be their first priority, while also generating revenue through fines instead of jail time.
-
This is not the same as legalization. Instead of allowing this to be a felony, we will make it a misdemeanor and pursue an increasing system of fines with jail time being possible after a third offense.
-
-
This will enable us to improve conditions by allowing resources to be spent on rehabilitating the incarcerated population and help reduce recidivism rates in the State.
-
Infrastructure
As your State Senator, I will
-
Invest heavily in our public infrastructure with a specific focus on accessibility and walkability in our rural cities.
-
Prioritize union labor when building new community activity centers, and renovating those that have fallen into disrepair. These centers will be used to host targeted skills classes, after school programs, and child care, providing jobs and helping restore a sense of community between neighbors.
Putting the Working Class First, Forever
The Eddy for Everybody Campaign aims to show Working Class folks that politics can make a difference for them when they have a seat at the table. Peyton Eddy rejects the two party system and the role that each party has played in our current affordability crisis, leading him to run as an Independent. Without being beholden to either party and their goals, he can focus on serving his constituency by responding to the issues that matter to them. He will never support bills that seek to hurt a small group of people, and will instead sponsor legislation that can make a positive impact for all of us. Together, we can restore common sense to Alabama’s State Senate.
